Ready, Fire, Aim!

''All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.'' - Sun Tzu, the Art of War

It’s hard being an American these days.  Not just with all the current craziness going on around the world, but because it feels like the doors to the nuthouse has been left unlocked and the loons have not only escaped, but they’re in charge and making all the rules.  The radicals from the 60s and 70s are now the professors, the media, and the politicians.

I’m having a difficult time with the unsettling reality of how much classified information is leaving the secret confines of the White House, to being splashed across the front pages of national major newspapers.  Let me rephrase that…I’m not having a difficult time believing that someone within the upper echelons of our government would do it; I’m having a hard time believing that something hasn’t already been done to stop it.  Not only should someone have already staunched this free-flow of classified information, but also we have the “watchdog’s” of the government actively covering up the spillage by a willing accomplice, the treasonously liberal media.  Where is the media outrage?  Anyone remember Valerie Plame?  I guess the liberal media outrage is only reserved for sitting Republican presidents.  I mean, that was nothing compared to what is getting leaked these days.

Remember how President Bush took a bloody, brutal beating by the liberal press and Congress over our forces not finding any WMD’s during the initial invasion to Iraq?  Guess what, where did Bashar Al Assad get all of poisonous toys?  That’s right, when Saddam knew that the invasion was going to happen, he sent them packing to Syria.  But even though he knew where they went too, President Bush didn’t kowtow to the media or a hostile Congress.  For all of his faults, at least President Bush had backbone.

ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post, and so many others, have willingly printed classified information for profit and politics sake, and have actively ignored the leaking thereof.  Either they are actively seeking the destruction of the United States as a Constitutional Republic, or they are just too ignorant to realize what the ramifications would be once this tidal wave of confidentiality is laid open for all to see.  Seeing that within our Congress, there are 70 members who are self professed Socialists (source), it’s not surprising that the media have insider help who are actively attempting to move us away from our founding as a representative Republic, to a socialist democracy.

Remember that kid in fifth grade you used to know…the one you told a secret too and who then turned around and told everyone else in school?  How many times did you go back and confide in said blabbermouth?  Probably never again, if you had any sense about you.  Our tactics, our national secrets on how we conduct direct and indirect operations around the world have been openly confirmed for all our enemies for the sake of political advancement in an election year.

Our allies, who have in confidence, relied on us to keep their secrets, have had their secrets ‘shared’ around the world.  Who will trust us now?  How can we expect someone from (name the country) to put their neck on the line and provide us intelligence that safeguards our nation, when they know, that not only will we spill the beans about the who-what-when-where-why, but we also will not come to their aid when they do get caught?

Remember PFC Bradley Manning?  A Private in the Army who supposedly leaked some 750,000 classified documents to the nefarious Wiki leaks founder, Julian Assange back in 2010.  Currently, he is serving an undetermined but projected indefinite jail sentence, and possibly the death sentence for his traitorous actions.  So how different is what Manning did to what is now currently being done now on an almost weekly basis?

But what does that tell the average soldier when the current administration can no more keep our nations secrets, than can Lindsay Lohan stay out of jail?

Our ability as a nation to fight our enemies absolutely DEPENDS on us being able to conduct covert warfare and not telegraph our every intention to our enemies.   The safety of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines depends on our leadership being discrete about our military capabilities.  It’s knowing what to say, and what not to say that shows the rest of the world the hand we are holding.  Most politicians and bureaucratic staffers have never served, so it isn’t their neck that is being put out there on the line.  War is unpredictable, our leaderships intent and competency shouldn’t be.

Burning Bridges

Our entry into Afghanistan back in 2001 was predicated on the idea that we (as a nation) would not allow our enemies to find safe haven anywhere in the world.  The natures of both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars since then have evolved over times from strategic strikes into protracted, bloody counter-insurgency operations that have dragged on for over 10 years now.  Why 10 years?  Nobody trusts us.  The ones who did, we’ve burned and/or made public spectacles of for doing so. (Think Kurds)

Aside from our multi-layered betrayal of the Kurdish people, we’ve now come to turning on our allies (and ourselves) with some regularity.

Soldiers and officers in the military have to swear an oath to protect and defend, NOT the sitting President of the United States (although he is the Commander in Chief), but the Constitution of the United States.  Here is a copy of the Commissioning Oath:

“I, (name), having been appointed to the of (rank) in the United States Army, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Does ‘all enemies’ include the treasonous liberal press who regularly out our nation’s most sensitive secrets at the behest of corrupt politicians?  Does it include politicians who care more about their elections than those service men and women who sacrifice everything for this nation?  Does it include members of Congress who are actively seeking to undermine the Constitution to the point of irrelevance?  It is the credibility of OUR nation that is at stake.  It is our reputation that is being thrashed about like a dog shaking a rag doll.  When America is on the ropes and our neck is on the line…who will come to our aid?

Prophetic Perspective

In a stark and sobering sense of irony, there is no United States of America in the Bible’s description of the last days.  The largest “Christian nation” in the world does not even warrant a whisper during the end times.  That is not to say, there isn’t descriptions of the state of the church in America (and the west) in the Bible, because there are those a-plenty.  But between our nations’ insatiable spending habits, socialist-Marxist politicians, apathetic public, and a complicit liberal media all of which come together to concoct a recipe for disaster the likes this nation has never seen.  In fact, our nation is at greater peril today, than we were during the height of the Civil War.

The enemies to this Constitution are not just from without, but from within.  They do not point their muskets at us and threaten to run us through with bayonets, but they chip away and reinterpret our freedoms for political correctness’s sake.  Even more damaging, is that they chip away at the credibility of the United States reputation as a beacon of freedom and truth in this dark and violent world.  Instead of Constitutional Republic, the enemies of this nation seek a true democracy.  Instead of rights granted by God, they wish us to have rights granted by mob rule no longer etched in stone, but moved about on a whim, to whichever crowd causes enough commotion.

Before the Iron Curtain fell, and the collapse of the Soviet Union, most prophecy and geo-political scholars could only see the demise of the communist superpower with some kind of cataclysmic World War III type event.  So when they collapsed from within for political dissention and economic frailty that came as a real shock to almost everyone.  The same holds true for us as a nation.  Is it impossible?  I used to think it was...but I’m not so sure anymore.  I think we are just one disaster away from fundamentally transforming into something we were never intended to be.  Whether that is a nation ruled by anarchy or by an iron fist, I don’t know.  When the current administration invites verifiable terrorists to the White House as guests, and has recently created the Homeland Defense’s checklists of potential threats who’s qualities include American’s who still believe in the Constitution, the world’s greatest constitutional republic has truly gone mad.  And why is that...?

“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the government lest it come to dominate our lives and interest.” Patrick Henry
