HAS OBAMA HAS DONE THAT WHICH IS EVIL IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD?

By Steve Rahal

As leader of the free world, Obama’s words and actions carry “gravitas” at home and abroad. In other words, when he talks, people listen (like the old EF Hutton commercial). Last week when BHO spoke out in favor of same sex marriage, he removed any doubt where he lines up with the Word of the LORD. Here’s where the LORD stands:

“Josiah [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem…” (2 Kings 22:1)

“And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.” (2 Kings 22:2)

“And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that [were] by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.” (2 Kings 23:7)

The above is a “ Scriptural Snapshot” of a Godly leader who was esteemed “righteous” in the sight of the LORD. But not all the kings of Israel were Godly, in fact, most were not. Here’s the condensed version of Godly vs ungodly:

There were only three (3) Kings of the United Kingdom of ancient Israel:

1.     Saul reigned for 40 years. He was mostly evil.

2.     David ruled for 40 years. He was esteemed as righteous.

3.     Solomon ruled 40 years. He was mostly righteous.

After the death of Solomon, the United Kingdom of Israel that had included all 12 tribes was divided into the Kingdoms of Judah (in which Jerusalem was situated) and Israel (comprised of the rest of the tribes north of Judah). Israel then had 20 kings who reigned from 931-721 B.C. before the LORD allowed them to be conquered by Assyria and taken into bondage because of their continued un-repentance, idol worship, pagan rituals such as sacrificing their own children (abortion in its most barbaric form) to pagan gods like Molech and Dagon, homosexuality (sodomites), etc. Eighteen of these kings were condemned as “evil” in the bible. Furthermore, the bible clearly states that they “did evil in the eyes of the LORD”. The other two kings, Jehu and Hoshea, enjoyed the distinction of being just “mostly evil”. Wow! Not one of these 20 kings of Israel was counted as righteous by the LORD. This is a very revealing commentary of a corrupted nation and its corrupt leaders.

Remember a guy by the name of Ahab? No, not Captain Ahab – King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel? Here’s what the Word of the LORD states:

“In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria over Israel twenty-two years.

Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the LORD than any of those before him.

He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him.

He set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he built in Samaria.

Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than did all the kings of Israel before him.” (1 Kings 16:29-33)

Ahab and Jezebel also had a little showdown with the prophet Elijah. Not too long after that Ahab died in battle and Jezebel was thrown out of a window and the dogs ate her.

Back down in Judah, there were also twenty (20) kings. They reigned from 931-586 B.C. before the LORD allowed them to be conquered by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, for pretty much the same sins – just variations on the same theme. Although, Judah did last a little longer, perhaps because there were eight kings who did “that which was right in the sight of the LORD”. They outlawed idol worship, child sacrifice, homosexuality, sorcery, divination, etc. and guided the people back to observing the LORD’s Commandments. Three of these kings, Asa, Jehoshaphat and Josiah went even further in pleasing the LORD by removing the sodomites (homosexuals). Now, I don’t believe “removing” meant “relocating” to another geographic location like when one uses Bekins Van Lines. They were more than likely stoned to death and left to rot in the sun, eaten by wild dogs and buzzards as that was the penalty under the Mosaic Law.

I guess by now, you know where I am going with all of this. The United States has one of those leaders (hint: Barack Obama) “who has done evil in the sight of the LORD” and is well on his way “to provoking the LORD” more than all who came before him. Last week’s announcement removed all doubt. But keep in mind as the prophet Daniel said: “He (the LORD) changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” (Daniel 2:21) Unfortunately, it was the unwise and undiscerning who elected Obama. Oh well, a nation does seem to get what it deserves. Nevertheless, the LORD has allowed Obama to be in power to serve His purpose. But be advised, JHVH is still on the throne and in control.

Time is in short. The battle continues to rage for the souls of men and we must remain on the front lines seeking the lost and dying of this world and engaging the enemy until our true Commander-in-Chief, Jeshua, issues that loud & final command (1 TH 4:16) officially relieving us of our duties as Christian soldiers and bringing us into Beulah land for our eternal R & R.

All hail King Jeshua! To Him alone be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen!
